A Weixin warning regarding Chen Xing

A Weixin chat log was circulating online in late June, 2025, regarding a serial fraudulent cat adopter and abuser, Chen Xing (陈星), The warning mentioned that Chen Xing was allegedly posing as an adopter to abuse cats. It stated that he had been spotted with a cage at Honghu Park, that he was originally from Hubei and living in Bao’an, and that he frequently changed his Weixin name. The warning advised against giving cats to him for adoption, claiming that he gained trust by sharing his ID card, later killed the cats while telling owners they had run away, and threatened violence when confronted. It also noted inconsistencies in his stated residence, with him previously claiming to live in Bao’an but later saying he was living in Huizhou and working in Pingshan.

Some Weixin messages circulating online warned rescuers about a man named Chen Xing, accused of fraudulently adopting and abusing cats. The messages included a video of a blue cat and Chen’s ID card. The poster speculated that Chen dared to share his ID and photo because he believed the person giving him the cat would not call the police.
